I just got my new phone in the mail today. I must say I am very pleased. I had a first generation chocolate and LOVED it even with it's flaws. Now that I was able to get a new phone after my DARE the chocolate touch was the only one I really considered. It has everything I want in a phone. Touch screen, NO qwerty keyboard (hate it myself), good camera, lots of memory with my SD card, lightweight, and GOOD battery life. I must say one of my favorite parts of the phone is that it comes with TWO battery covers. I love purple so I like both the purple cover and the black one. Easy enough to change out. I also really like that it comes with two games already on it. Couldn't have picked two better games for myself. Rock Band and Sims 3. I'm an avid fan of both, so was quite surprised and pleased to see them on my phone already.

Cons: I haven't had my phone very long so the only real con I have is the display. The contact/calls buttons along the bottom of the screen are bright colors and I've yet to find away to change them. I like things to match as much as possible and no picture or background I put on the screen really goes well with the bright colors.

I also wish the camera had a flash feature for the *rare* time that I need a flash.

Overall I am happy with my new phone and hopeful it will last me two years.

For the price, this phone looks like a steal: great MP3 features and 1GB storage, full touch screen, no required data plan. And when I first got the phone, I was fairly happy with it.

However, after 7 months, I cannot recommend this phone. I first started to realize faults when the ease of the unlocking mechanisms triggered several pocket calls

Later, the earpiece stopped working due to an erroneous detection of headphones. I couldn't make or receive phone calls. After several attempts at rapidly putting in and unplugging headphones to hope that it triggered it off it finally worked again, but I haven't been able to use it as an MP3 player since.

But what really just put the nail in the coffin was that the touch screen wore out over time. At first the screen was somewhat resistive to touch, but I figured I'd get used to it. However this issue got worse over time and now, 7 months later, for several hours at a time it will not register a single touch. I cannot make phone calls, read or send text messages, or use any features other than receiving (but not making) a call and taking (but not viewing) pictures. It will sporadically work for awhile again, but as the problem gets worse and worse I need to find a new replacement phone quick.

Even if you like the phone when you first use it, I strongly recommend against buying it. It sure has quantity of features, but perhaps that should trigger an alarm in your head as to the quality of them.

I had the EnV Touch for the last month. I returned it because it was just too bulky for me. Exchanging it for the Chocolate touch was the best phone decision I have ever made. This phone is small and powerful. The QWERTY keypad has spaces between the buttons that help reduce miss types. It is very accurate. Though the screen is not as high a resolution, it is surprisingly sharp and very vibrant. The music player is excellent. I used to get frustrated with my album art not showing up, but with this phone, if you put the album art in the photos folder on your SD card, when playing a song that doesn't have album art show up, you can manually put it as the album art. Also, the FM radio is another amazing feature. It comes through crystal clear. Drawing pad, note pad, better touch screen, incredible battery, very compact, no required data package; the list of positives of this phone go on and on. I have extensively used the EnV Touch, Versa, and DARE and I believe the Chocolate Touch is simply the best non PDA phone available for Verizon.

Exactly but i bought mine at the Verizon's store. You really can't text very well with this compared to an iPod Touch/iPhone or Blackberry Storm. The Touch Screen isn't really sensitive at all, you kind of have to mash on it for it to work and or use a pen or your nail for links when you're on the internet.

I really dont' recommend this phone if you like to text or if you use your phone for internet.

Okay, I went to Best Buy and bought this phone; got it for free since I was a new Verizon customer. Took it back and got an HTC Droid Eris - more about that under the [[ASIN: B002VJJZ0Y HTC DROID Eris Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)]] reviews...for now, let's review the pros and cons of this phone:

Pros:
- Customizable EQ Settings: flat, bass boost, treble boost, vocal boost, and classical
- Manual EQ--adjust EQ settings across 4 bands
- Dedicated side key and shortcut key for easy music access
- Sync music from V CAST Music with Rhapsody to phone
- FM tuner (87.5-107.9 MHz) with RBDS support and 12 station presets
- EZ Tip Calculator: you type in the amount of the bill, preset what percentage you want to tip, and tada! - you're done

Cons:
- Horrible sound, but this isn't going to be your main music player - your iPod, Zune or other music player will
- Resistive touchscreen, therefore, no multi-touch (e.g. no zoom in/out in photo mode)
- Dragging or scrolling on the Cholocate is near impossible. You have to use your fingernail (if you have any) to scroll and drag and this makes text way more difficult than it has to be
- Contact list is hard to navigate; finding a specific person through the phone book can be nerve racking because of the lack of a scroll wheel &/or the touch screen scrolling not working

Bottom line - save your money & the time you'll waste finding out that this phone isn't going to work for you.
